Welcome!  My name is Charles Ivan Windon, however I have always gone by Ivan.  I have worked in Systems and Networking since 1997.  I received my start by taking a class in Network Engineering Management from Computer Learning Center.   It was then that I received my CNE 4 status, with a perfect score on the TCP/IP module.  While I no longer deal with Novell Systems, I have over 20 years of experience with Microsoft and System Administration, as well as 5 years experience with Cisco Networks.

My main passion is within Linux, primarily Red Hat, and Information Security where I honed my skills at Pennsylvania State World Campus.  I now hold an Associates in Information Sciences and Technology from Penn State, and a certificate in Security and Risk Analysis.  I graduated with distinctions from the Pennsylvania State College in 2015.

I have worked with a number of platforms such as Linux, Windows, Cisco, Meraki, Ubiquiti, Juniper, Sophos UTM, Wireshark, Forcepoint, Lumension, F5, and others.  My future career goals include working toward my RHCE, as well as the RHCA.

You will find the main focus of my blog is on Linux.

If you have any questions for me, please feel free to reach out and email me.
